Are you a Backend Developer looking to challenge yourself and make an impact within a multi-skilled, pioneering team, working on the latest technologies here at Summit?
We think differently. We make the unbelievable happen. We are looking for people who are passionate about developing. It's an exciting time to join Summit as we build out our technology capability within the UK, based out of our creative and spacious offices in East Yorkshire, with flexible working.
As specialists in online retailing, we’ve been using technology to drive better decision making and performance for leading retail brands since 2014 across our suite of products including Productcaster, Forecaster and Purchase Predictor that delivers record-breaking performance across our client's campaigns. Working as a Backend Developer within our Marketing Technology team, you'll be responsible for the development of our market-leading, proprietary technology solutions for retailers.
Working collaboratively with the latest tech, as part of a team of 5, you'll predominantly be coding with some planning and comms with product owners and client teams, delivering high quality Node.js development work to Agile principles. As a wider team we work with a number of technologies, tools and frameworks including but not limited to; C# .NET, NodeJS, Microsoft C# .Net Core, Azure, MSSQL, Docker and Kubernetes, Linux/Unix Bash, OAuth/OpenID, Microsoft Powershell and others.
About the Role
With strong communication skills, you will input to and improve the SCRUM delivery and test release processes. You’ll be participating in application maintenance and support, testing and technical documentation, proposing technical solutions for new functionality, reviewing, analysing and refactoring existing code and identify areas of improvements.
Participating in daily and weekly meetings, as well as planning, estimation, grooming and review meetings, this is a full and challenging Developer role, working across our in-house marketing platforms. As part of the product development lifecycle, we welcome ideas on how to make our technology products relevant to the market.
Any other experience with Database (MSSQL/AzureDB/Oracle/Sybase) design, development and maintenance would be useful, as would any previous working experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OAuth/OpenID, Microsoft Powershell and Linux/Unix bash. But above all what’s important is that you enjoy working as part of a team, are able to work independently to timescales and have good attention to detail; being able to read and understand technical documentation.
