About the Role
Reporting into the CTO, the Head of Platform is responsible for the definition and evolution of the Summit Automotive platform to deliver future strategic and commercial business benefit. The Head of Platform oversees Product Management, Product Design and Platform Documentation, ensuring platform requirements are correctly collated, prioritised, documented and delivered efficiently to internal and external development teams.
Key areas of focus include; planning the introduction of future requirements on the platform, bringing new solutions to market and right first time, together with developing launch plans to enable sales success.
This permanent newly created role is an opportunity to make a real impact and drive the future of Summit Automotive. The Head of Platform will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and bring a high level of strategy and governance into a start-up type environment. The Automotive teams are based from central London (Soho) and Warwick, with third-party teams in Romania and Prague. We are looking for someone to be based out of our Warwick for the majority, with travel to our other sites as and when required.
With extensive working experience at a similar level within a medium to large-scale web and e-commerce environment, you will have set and owned the requirements of one or more platforms that are imperative to an organisations business strategy and growth plan. You will have gathered, understood and prioritised requirements from Client Delivery teams alongside internal platform development initiatives. In-depth and extensive experience of Agile processes and software development methodologies are a given.
You will have demonstrable experience in coping with a technically complex platform and fast-changing environment, responding calmly and rationally to changes in business direction in a deadline-driven situation. This role is the “go to” point on all product roadmap and planning activities, able to clearly articulate the connection of the product roadmap with the larger business goals and growth plan. As such you will have strong communication and presentation skills, able to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders both client-side and internally.
