About the Role

The Solutions Architect is responsible for defining the solution blueprint for Summit Automotive’s current and future enterprise platform solutions, addressing all high-level business requirements in relation to the overall solution. The Solutions Architect will work within the enterprise architecture group.

 

You will develop the product solution and integration strategy, following fundamental architectural concepts and in accordance with business requirements and constraints, to ensure that the enterprise solution, relevant systems and data sources are appropriately integrated.

 

The role involves not only development but also leading with architecture and technical design of the platform. You will be hands-on designing and developing software components, providing technical insight and coaching the team in a technical capacity. Ensuring a high level of engagement, you will be key in guiding the team, providing strategy input and driving best practice, travelling to client sites as required.

 

Reporting to the Lead EA this is a permanent role based out of our Warwick/Leamington office and provides an opportunity to work across exciting software projects for some of the biggest multinational car manufacturers and dealer networks. The Automotive teams are based in Warwick/Leamington and central London (Soho), with strategic partners throughout Europe.

Our technologies include, but are not limited to: SaaS and microservices based software design, Docker, React, PHP, Symfony, Magento, Composer, MySQL, Linux Bash Scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Git, VSTS Pipelines, Terraform, Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ElasticSearch, Kibana, RabbitMQ and more.

Requirements

About you

Knowledge of web applications and scaling enterprise solutions, a Senior Full-Stack Developer, ideally as proficient with front-end as back-end.  You will have a strong understanding of webservices and service-oriented architecture having worked as Solutions Architect previously, along with:

 

  • Experience of overseeing the design and delivery of data structures in accordance with the platform architecture
  • Architectural governance - the ability to identify solution architecture risks and propose alternatives and solutions
  • eCommerce experience - Magento, Demandware, Hybris
  • Infrastructure - Linux/Unix, Virtualisation 
  • Development background - PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Outstanding written documentation and knowledge sharing skills - maintaining in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practises, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
  • Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presentation skills.

 

Ideally, the candidate will have in-depth knowledge of multiple stages in the typical customer lifecycle, across retail, automotive or other industries.
