Technical Author

£28,000 to £35,000 DOE

 

Are you an experienced Content Designer or Technical Author within a software development environment with experience of documentation tools and creating user guides or online help?

Join the Automotive team in Warwick and become immersed in creating, updating and reviewing a variety of materials for our industry leading Automotive products. 

 

This is an autonomous role, reporting into and working closely with the Product Owner and client teams to plan and create technical documentation such as; user guides, installation guides, release notes, training material, online help, and video tutorials for the product

 

Editing and publishing user material via our own and third-party content management systems, you’ll need to understand technology and applications for which documentation is to be prepared.

Requirements

About You

A knowledgeable Content Designer or Technical Author, with experience in software development, who can work well within a commercial and fast paced delivery focused environment:  You will need:

 

  • An exemplary command of the English language and the creative flair to create, adapt and iterate copy for all digital channels
  • Experience in at least one of the following documentation tools: Advanced Microsoft Word, FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Madcap Flare or similar
  • A flair for turning technical subjects and jargon into easily understood content
  • General working knowledge of the documentation process – from concept to release.
  • Experience in writing user guides or online help or processes independently.
  • Good attention to detail, time management and ability to work independently
  • Experience of Automotive or passion for motoring an advantage
  • Working knowledge of agile project methodology an advantage, but not essential
